Warranty against defects
Quickpro Locksmiths of 80 Wheatsheaf Rd, Glenroy VIC 3046 warrants that the labour we perform is free from defects in workmanship for 12 months from the date of the invoice. Parts and hardware we supply carry the warranty offered by their manufacturer, which is typically between 1 and 7 years depending on the product. We will tell you the applicable term before fitting.
This warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, the consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage, and to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. See our consumer guarantees page.
What is covered
- Locks or hardware that fail because of how we installed or adjusted them.
- Rekeying and repinning work that does not operate correctly.
- Keys we cut that do not operate the intended lock.
- Repairs that do not resolve the fault we were engaged to fix.
What is not covered
- Wear and tear from normal use over time.
- Damage from forced entry, vandalism, accident, fire or storm.
- Doors and frames that move, swell, drop or warp after our work.
- Adjustment or repair carried out by someone else after we attended.
- Hardware you supplied that we installed at your request.
- Failure caused by lack of basic maintenance, such as never lubricating a cylinder.
- Batteries in remotes, fobs and electronic locks.
How to claim
- Contact us at admin@urgentlocksmiththomastown.com or (03) 7057 1535 with your invoice number, the date of the original work and a description of the problem.
- We arrange an inspection. Inspection under a valid warranty claim is free of charge.
- Where the claim is covered, we repair or replace at no cost to you, including labour and travel.
- Where the fault turns out to be outside the warranty, we tell you before doing any chargeable work and quote it separately.
You bear any expense of claiming this warranty, such as postage if you choose to send a small item rather than have us attend. We will tell you the cheapest sensible option for your situation.
Transferability
The workmanship warranty applies to the person or business named on the invoice. It does not transfer automatically on sale of the property, though manufacturer warranties on parts may.
